Hi, I am Tarah-Lee!

LET ME TELL YOU  my story
I remember the first time I saw a photo of me that I didn’t recognise. I was down at the beach with my daughter, and my sister took a photo of us. When did I stop taking care of myself? I felt so embarrassed and vulnerable and started searching for a quick fix to undo this overnight. I tried them all. Detoxes, shakes, ‘fat wraps’, juice cleanses, soup diets, if it existed and someone wrote a ‘too good to be true’ testimonial, I tried it. Nothing was happening! I would lose 5kgs, gain 6, lose 7kgs and gain 10 – it was very exhausting. I didn’t know I had to eat better to be healthier. I didn’t know what kind of training I needed to shape and strengthen my body.

I had friends try and share their knowledge with me, however I didn’t take them seriously enough to listen. My inner voice was so negative, that it spoke to me louder than those around me trying to help. That was until the day I met an amazing personal trainer. Someone who listened to me, who taught me what I could do and pushed me beyond my limits to be my best at everything. I wanted to eat better so that I could train better and make them proud of what I was learning.

My personal trainer got me out of my comfort zone, taught me how to do things that I would have never tried on my own and I was loving it. I was still lost on what to eat, and was referred to a dietitian. I loved them, the recipes, the accountability, how I felt when I was eating better. However something was missing. I was given a meal plan without instructions, directions or educational information.
What can I eat when I can’t afford avocados? Why am I eating this type of cheese? Why do I have to weigh everything!?
It was hard to stick to for long periods of time because I had so many questions.

One day I thought – stuff it, I am going to apply to study Nutrition at Uni. What do I have to lose? I have just spent the last 10 years in the same job, the next 3 years will go by whether I am studying or not, I may as well work towards something I am interested in. Crazy right? I wanted to understand the why and how of Nutrition science and I want to bridge the gap in Nutrition education. I want people, everyday people to achieve health that compliments their lifestyle in a way that is inclusive of others in their household, and gives them long lasting results.

Week 2 of uni I realised that this meant that I was going to need to create my own business, and during one of my lectures I enrolled to study my cert III and IV in Fitness. As a qualified personal trainer, I got to work with clients that had similar backstories to mine. It was so exciting and rewarding to watch people transform and bloom with confidence as they reached their goals.

Now that I have graduated from USC with my Bachelor in Nutrition, I have been able to create evidence based programs that support both exercise and nutrition to support my clients goals. My programs include education and support to ensure that my clients get everything they need to maintain their journey for good health. True sustainable change that lasts a lifetime. Diet free, simple healthy eating for everyone.

If you are struggling to achieve your goals, allow me to create an evidence based program best suited to your needs.
